Legendary comedian & actor, Yakov Smirnoff, is back in Branson for the 2023 season! Headlining his own theatre for well over a decade, Yakov’s smiling face is one of the first things you see driving into town from N. US Hwy 65! Who is Yakov Smirnoff?
Born in Ukraine, Yakov’s family immigrated to the United States in 1977. Permanent US Citizenship would be granted on the most patriotic of days on July 4, 1986, what a country! Yakov, at that point, had already become a fixture at the Comedy Store taking the stage with stars like David Letterman, Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Richard Pryor and many more. His comedy prowess propelled him onto the small screen in series such as Night Court, The Simpsons, King of the Hill and featured on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show. The rest is history as Yakov took to the big screen with Tom Hanks in the Money Pit as well as other movies such as Moscow on the Hudson with Robin Williams.
